Application Criteria
Who is Eligible for Jobbsprånget?
- You hold an academic degree (bachelor’s, master’s, or higher) for the positions you have applied for
- You were born outside of Europe (including both EU and non-EU countries, except for individuals born in Ukraine who are currently in Sweden under the Temporary Protection Directive and registered in the Population Register)
- You hold a valid work permit visa (student visas or visas connected to a specific employer are not eligible)
- You have proficient English and/or Swedish skills, both spoken and written
- You’re registered as an active job seeker with Arbetsförmedlingen and have had a planning call with a case officer
Required Documents for Eligibility
To determine your eligibility, upload the required documents to your Jobbsprånget profile under My Account → Files. Preliminary assessments are conducted by Arbetsförmedlingen’s central team and finalised after submitting an internship application to your local office.
The required documents depend on your residency or visa status. Without these, Jobbsprånget and Arbetsförmedlingen cannot assess your eligibility.
If you have:
- Swedish citizenship, or citizenship in another EU-country:
Upload a photo or copy of your Swedish passport or your EU-passport. - Temporary residence permit:
Upload your visa decision document(s) from Migrationsverket. An example of what the document looks like can be found here. Please upload your current valid decision document. Your residence permit card is NOT a valid document. - If your visa class is “X”:
The “X” on your decision document means it is an extension of a previous visa decision. To assess your eligibility, we need to know the original visa class to know what type of visa has been extended. Please upload both your current and original decision documents showing the visa class. If your original visa was extended multiple times, please include all documents showing “X” after the original decision. - If your visa has expired/expires soon and you are waiting for an extension:
Upload your last valid decision document from Migrationsverket along with the receipt of the extension application (with the control number visible). - Permanent residence permit:
Upload your decision document from Migrationsverket stating your permanent residency or your residence permit card that states “permanent residency”. - EU/EEA-family member:
Upload your decision from Migrationsverket or your residence permit card that states that you are a family member of an EU-citizen.
Timeline for Eligibility Assessment
Jobbsprånget and Arbetsförmedlingen are continuously assessing eligibility for all applicants. We kindly ask you not to contact us for status updates, as this will not expedite the process. With many applicants each semester, we are working as quickly as possible. This does not impact your chances of securing an internship. Employers have constant access to your profile and understand the significance of the status colors.
Applicants with Student Visas
- Visa Class D or DX: Candidates holding student visas of type D or DX are unfortunately not eligible for Jobbsprånget, even if you have applied for a new visa and uploaded an extension receipt. Eligibility is only possible once you obtain a new work decision under a different visa class (“beslutsklass”) from Migrationsverket.
- Visa Class DA: For candidates with a visa class DA, this type can only be extended for one year, and the four-month internship must fall within the timeframe of your visa decision.
- Visa Class DB: For candidates with a visa class DB, you are eligible but must upload proof of extension if your visa is nearing expiration.
